May 6, 2009: "Magic Kingdom"

Location, Right in front of the castle standing on the curb. (With a few hundred people.)
Lens: 70-200mm 2.8VR, hand held.

I think I captured something a little dirrerent from the usual. My son has a D40 and was shooting wide angle. (Haven't seen those yet!)

April 25 2009 "Feed Me"

I have a 5th wheel RV. The hitch box and hitch pin extend out the front. Usually I put the tow cables in the backside of the box to keep them off the driveway. Not this time. Meet Mr. or Mrs Carolina Wren. They have a nest full of small ones in the box. Yeah!! Can't use the RV.

The Wren's don't seem to be scared of me and get quite close to me on their way back to the nest with treats. (for their young NOT me!) This one landed in front of me on my boat trailer. Cute little fellow.

April 21 2009 "Monster in the Darkness"

I was helping a friend capture a retirement party the other night. Walking out to the parking lot I spotted this beauty in the darkness.

fotoeffects: Yes, hand held...kinda...., I locked the camern against the side of a tree. (save the trees!)

2/27/2009__ The Eye

All SmugMuggers, I thank you for all the great comments and advice. You have been very kind. The quality of photography in this group blows me away. The short time I have been in the group has made me focus more on my images, life and actually have fun again. Sometimes life can be such a drag. We forget that we need each other and the joy we can bring each other. I have been revived...thank you...I really love you guys.

Now that said....A few of you have told me I have a good eye. So......I thought I'd take this self portrait, ,,,and show you my eyes. See, they are NO different then yours. ....LOL. Have a good evening and weekend.

Meet a Great American...Willy stands in this one spot every Sunday selling the Sunday Paper. He is the only person my wife and I will buy a paper from. If you live around here you need to buy from Willy because he has double coupons in his papers. He is in front of Kroger on North Park Dr.

"Santa" on Vacation

This month I thought I would post "Great Americans". These are hard working people that love their country and work hard to prove it. People of all nations residing here in the U.S. You see you don't have to be American to be a Great American. If I had the money to be a world traveler I'd be doing "Peoples of the World". One of my favorite subjects. Guess that is the reason I like photography and this gallery site so much. I get to see places and people I will probably never get to travel to.. Even here in the states.

Meet Roy Shults,
He has worked in retail sales and photography for 40+ years and retired. He donates his time for chairties now, is "Santa" for the Shrinners and is a driver for taking children to various Shrinner Hospitals. He is quite a character with a kind heart and a gleam in his eye, he rose to the chimney and........whoa...wait..that is another story.

March 27: "I'm Soooo Happy to Bite You"

Sometimes you just get lucky. I am driving down a side street and in the middle of the road is a snappy turtle. So, I stop my truck, get out and move it to the ditch on the other side of the road. I understand why it is called a Snapping Turtle cause he/she hissed and tryed its best to take a chunk of me hand. That is gratitude for ya!

He/she is about one foot wide. Very healthy!

As you can see, we had both the grandkids yesterday so I did not get time to post/review. Sorry, can't say I missed you guys yesterday! Caitlin was wanting Trent to ride her horsey and caught him by surprise. I saw her coming and had the camera ready.

Cherry

One of the reasons I have not been posting is her. My Gibson, Cherry Sunburst ES 335 DOT. I have started playing in an area cover band again. I quit playing in 2003 due to just plain burnout. I am beginning to get more time now since I have their set list down. More pics to come....our 1st gig is July 9 and 10 at The Tavern in Warner Robins, Georgia. Yester Daze Rock is the bands name.

So here is a portrait of one of my babies.

Thanks for all the prayers. Wife's mother is still hanging in there, but we think the end is near. She is in the last stages of Alzheimers and that does not help. We drove back to Macon last night and gotta head back to Louisville tomorrow night.

I took this image at The Falls of The Ohio. I thought the father and son added a moment caught in time. Teach the young.

I was busy yesterday and did not get to post. Got home late and did not upload my imaes. So......This was taken in the fall of last year at Indian Springs State Park (grandson) and I thought I would post it for all those trying to cope with the harsh weather up north. Hang in there, spring is around the corner...lol.

Yep....its Little League season again!

I was invited to go as 2nd photog to shoot a dress rehearsal at the Macon Little Theatre the other night. The play is called 'Trailer Park' and is very good. My 1st time shooting in a theatre enviroment and it was challenging. So...I used a 50mm/1.8, 17-55/2.8, and 70-200VR/2.8

28th..C5A, taken from my son's back yard. On approach to Robins AFB. 70-200 VR/ 1.7 TC, CS3 for the Twilight Zone look.
These guys look like they are in slow motion when they fly over. Anybody know what the approach speed maybe?

April 8 2009; "Bridge Over Walnut Creek"

Another from yesterday. This is part of the trails in the park. I took this from the top ot the large mound. All the trails are closed now due to flooding.

Lens: 70-200/ 2.8 VR w/ a 1.7 multiplier. Converted to black and white w/ CS3.
